On your offer of admission to California State University, Bakersfield for the Spring 2017 semester! Here are a couple of things you're going to need to know as you navigate through the admissions process.
So now that you are admitted to CSUB what do you do next?
Step 1: Log in to myCSUB and Accept Your Offer of Admission
Log into your myCSUB and accept your offer of admission by choosing the Accept/Decline link in the Admissions section of your Student Center and follow the instructions. Once you accept your offer of admission you will receive important information on New Student Orientation, advising, and other campus information to help prepare to make the transition to CSUB in the mail. Please be sure to accept or decline your offer of admission no later than December 31, 2016. Accepting your offer early ensures you earlier information on signing up for an upcoming orientation and better opportunity at meeting an academic advisor and choosing classes that fit your needs.

Step 2: Submit Official Transcripts
Transcripts should be sent directly from the originating institution to the Office of Admissions. Transcripts submitted by the student are acceptable, if submitted in the original sealed envelope. Your official transcripts are needed to validate your eligibility for admission.
Submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended or are attending now, as well as AP, IB, and/or CLEP scores. Some transcripts may have cousrework in progress. Admissions Evaluators/Advisors will verify all of the coursework you self-reported on your application. For spring semester admits, please submit your transcripts with fall semester in-progress as soon as you have accepted admission. Transcripts can be submitted electronically or mailed to the following address:

IMPORTANT: All in-progress coursework must be completed by the end of the Fall 2016 quarter/semester. Final transcripts are due January 13, 2017 with Fall 2016 grades posted for clear admission to the Spring 2017 semester. Note: verification of admission eligibility will be validated through the last semester/quarter. Offers of admission may remain provisional contingent upon verification and completion of required coursework and grades. If after validation and verification you do not meet eligibility, your offer of admission may be revoked.
Step 3: Apply for Housing
If you're interested, CSUB Student Housing is more than just a place where residents reside, eat, and sleep. It is a community that promotes academic excellence, social enrichment, and personal growth. If you plan on living on campus, submit your housing application and housing deposit. Visit the housing website for more details about deadline dates and room types and room availability.
Step 4: Register for New Student Orientation
Register for the New Student Orientation either online or by mail by the deadline. The New Student Orientation program will provide you with information to make a successful transition to CSUB. At the orientation you will have the opportunity to find out about academic programs, support programs and other resources available on campus. Plus, you'll get to tour the campus and connect with other students.
You must be admitted to the university prior to attending orientation. There is a mandatory New Student Orientation fee that is separate from and in addition to other deposits, registration fees, and tuition. Step 5: Schedule an Academic Advising Appointment
CSUB Academic Advisors specialize in helping undergraduate students understand the University's general education requirements, degree requirements, develop educational roadmaps, plan for future semesters, and help in solving academic challenges.
To schedule an academic advising appointment contact the Student Services Center of your intended department of your major. You can find your Student Center of your major in the orientation materials mailed to you, or visit the website for a listing. Students must be admitted to the university and registered for New Student Orientation before they can meet with an academic advisor. Bring an unofficial copy of your transcripts from previous instititions to your advising appointment.
Step 6: Pay Attention to Your To-Do List on myCSUB
Visit your To-Do list on your Student Center on myCSUB. Failure to adhere to any of the required documentd, posted deadlines, and other necessary items being requested may result in your offer of admissions being revoked and courses canceled (if pre-registered).
