Undergraduate Studies
Welcome to the Home Page for the Office of Undergraduate Studies and Associate Vice President for Academic Programs. The Dean of Undergraduate Studies coordinates the General Education program. Links related to General Education are found below. This office also receives applications for the Academic Petitions Committee and Early Enrollment programs for high school students. It administers the assignment of credit for Experiential Learning, the four-year degree pledge, and the Hawk Honors Program. The Special Major and Special Minor degrees are also housed within this office.
2011-2012 Tentative Schedule of General Education and Other Graduation Requirements
Found in the link above are the GE and other graduation requirements tentatively scheduled for the 2011-2012 academic year. All courses are subject to demand and staffing. This schedule should not be viewed as a guaranty that courses will be offered at the time, mode, or quarter specified. Individual departments and myCSUB will have more up-to-date information.
GE Substitutions
Requests for substitutions for general education (or other university-wide requirements) can be made directly to the relavent department chair or dean's office. The request should be made using a Petition for Exception form with an explanation of how the course meets the published learning goals/objectives and should be accompanied by a course syllabus.
