The Women and Gender Studies (WGS) minor is an interdisciplinary program that examines gender through a critical lens. As an interdisciplinary program, WGS will expose you to social, cultural, historical, psychological, literary, artistic, philosophical, and biological perspectives on women and gender.
In seeking a fuller understanding of the multidimensional nature of personhood, these courses examine the ways that gender, race, ethnicity, social class, sexuality, nationality, disability, and other facets of embodiment intersect in the construction of gender identity and experience.
Students interested in a WGS minor should contact the Chair of WGS, Debra Jackson. She will help you complete a Minor Declaration Form and a plan of study.
