About the Faculty TLC
The Faculty Teaching and Learning Center was established in Fall 1996 with the mission of enhancing teaching and learning at CSUB. We provide assistance and resources to support faculty in reaching their professional goals and in helping them to create an effective learning environment for our students.
We provide a variety of programs and resources. We focus our efforts assisting faculty in teaching and learning, tenure preparation, leadership development, the application of technology to teaching and balancing their work in their daily lives.
Our approach is to offer one-on-one consultation, small and large group initiatives related to instructional design, instructional technology, online course design and pedagogy, as well other faculty enrichment programs. A targeted effort is also made to help fund scholarly activities. Currently, we
offer grants twice a year to support faculty in their scholarship.
The FTLC is located in the Walter Stiern Library, Suite 102 and is open throughout the day from 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. We have a large volume of interesting resources on teaching, scholarships and student learning.
Training events and activities are ongoing almost every day.
