The Social Sciences Teacher Preparation Program is overseen by a committee of faculty from the disciplines of History, Economics, Political Science, Geography, and Sociology. The committee establishes and oversees the curriculum in accordance with state standards and sets and enforces program policy.
Additions/changes to the Social Science curriculum:
The Social Science Advisory Committee
has approved the addition of three new courses to the Social Science curriculum. Students may elect to take History
210, Ancient Civilizations or History 211, Medieval/Early Modern World
History to satisfy category 3, Foundations of Western/World Civilization; and History
359, Recent America, 1960-present to satisfy category
14, US History.
