‘Blade’ soundtrack leaves listeners feeling dull despite popular artists

By STEPHANIE MUIR

The “Blade II” album mixes the music genres of electronic, alternative and rap to provide a rather unsavory soundtrack.

This album definitely goes to a level that hasn’t been experimented with a lot. The varieties evaluated are such vast opposites of the spectrum, I found myself hitting the skip button on my CD player. Trying to find a song worthy of my listening time was difficult.

Unfortunately the only song worthy of listening to wasn’t all that great either. I shudder to think that if the soundtrack is so bad, what is the movie going to be like?

With artist combinations of Eve and Fatboy Slim, Ice Cube and Paul Oakenfold, and Bubba Sparxxx and The Crystal Method, this album is a lot of noise and foul language. The only tolerable song on the whole CD is Redman and Gorillaz’s “Gorillaz on My Mind.” And even then it is no great prize.

For those of you who are gluttons for punishment, check this album out. It is in stores Tuesday, March 19.
