Welcome to the RN-BSN on-line program at California State University, Bakersfield!

A BSN offers you a wider variety of job possibilities. Upon completion of the program, you will earn a Public Health Nurse (PHN) certificate that permits you to work in either public health or school nursing. A basic konwledge of nursing theory and research methods as well as community health nursing set the BSN graduate apart from the ADN graduate. You will also gain a deeper understanding of pathophysiology which will be invaluable in your clinical setting.

As a RN-BSN graduate, I was ready for the challenge. I felt I had a great nursing education foundation (BC Nursing Graduate Class of 1992) to build on.

Our program has recently changed as of Winter 2009 to a completely on-line nursing program. We have worked closely with our faculty, nursing leaders, ADN programs, and community members to craft a solid and updated curriculum for the RN-BSN student. We have received positive feedback from the community and our students.

To assist you with advising, we have several advisors assigned to the various areas of Kern County. Below you will find their contact information.

I look forward to your great success in our program.

Warm Regards,

Michelle Kinder, MSN, RN-BC, CNL
Director
