National Clearinghouse
- ENC is an information source for K-12
math and science teachers. ENC is funded through a contract with the
U.S. Department of Education, Office of Educational Research and
Improvement. They dozens of documents (like the NCTM guidelines)
on-line regarding curriculum in mathematics and the sciences.
- National
Science Foundation
- Check it out. Particularly interesting
is the information on improving your grant proposal.
- Society
for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM)
- SIAM is a society or 9000 members that
fosters the development of the methodologies needed in these
application areas. It is fitting that the acronym SIAM also represents
the society's slogan -- Science and Industry Advance with Mathematics.
- Society
for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Undergraduate Page
- Undergraduate Mathematics students are
especially invited to this WEBpage. Profiles of Mathematicians,
information about internships and programs, and more.
- Association for Women in Mathematics
- A national organization whose purpose is
to encourage women to study and to have active careers in the
mathematical sciences. AWM publishes a bi-monthly newsletter on
professional opportunities, news of women in mathematical sciences,
and book reviews. Among other activities, AWM administers an
electronic network and sponsors events aimed at high school students.

Journals:
- Chronicle
of Higher Education
- ACADEME THIS WEEK is a complimentary
service of The Chronicle of Higher Education. A new edition is
available on the Internet beginning every Tuesday at noon, Eastern
time.
- EDUCOM
Review
- EDUCOM Review is a bimonthly magazine on
learning, communications, and information technology.
- Get the latest information on anything
dealing with Sports. Game updates (current score, final box scores),
sports stories, everything.
- Los
Angeles Times
- Well its local and informative but I
hate the way they have set it up. I get my news from Reuters.
- The
San Francisco Examiner
- A real electronic newspaper... Examiner
news stories under the News, Business, Sports and Style sections are
updated daily, Monday through Sunday
- Acta
Mathematica Universitatis Comenianae
- An electronic version of the journal by
the same name. It publishes research articles in English language. URL
form Slovakia (Slovak Repupblic) and the download is usually slow.
- Journal
of Approximation Theory
- The journal is devoted to pure and
applied approximation theory and related areas. Criteria for
publication include novelty, importance, and clarity of presentation.
- Complexity
International
- Complexity International is a refereed
journal for scientific papers dealing with any area of complex systems
research. The theme of the journal is the field of complex systems,
the generation of complex behaviour from the interaction of multiple
parallel processes. Relevant topics include (but are not restricted
to): artificial life, cellular automata, chaos theory, control theory,
evolutionary programming, fractals, genetic algorithms, information
systems, neural networks, non-linear dynamics, and parallel
computation.
- Electronic
Colloquium on Computational Complexity
- The Electronic Colloquium on
Computational Complexity (ECCC) is a forum for the rapid and
widespread interchange of ideas, techniques, and research in
computational complexity. The purpose is to use electronic media for
scientific communication and discussions in the computational
complexity community. ECCC welcomes papers, short notes and surveys
with relevance to the theory of computation, clear mathematical
profile and strictly mathematical format.
- Theory
and Applications of Categories
- An all-electronic, refereed journal on
Category Theory, categorical methods and their applications in the
mathematical sciences.
- Electronic
Journal of Differential Equations.
- EJDE is a strictly electronic peer
review publication dealing with all aspects of differential equations
(o.d.e.'s, p.d.e.'s, integral equations, functional differential
equations, etc.), and their applications.
- Furman
University Electronic Journal of Undergraduate Mathematics
- This on-line journal is designed to
encourage undergraduate research in the field of mathematics. The
Journal accepts papers of significant mathematical interest written by
students containing work done prior to the students' obtaining a
Bachelor's degree. Papers of all types will be considered, including
technical, historical, and expository papers. The Journal is not
refereed in the traditional sense. Rather, any student wishing to
submit a paper must have a sponsor--a full-time faculty member willing
to approve the student's work. The sponsor will play a role in
ensuring the quality and veracity of the paper.
- Journal
of Lie Theory
- A journal for speedy publication of
information in the areas of Lie algebras, Lie groups, algebraic
groups, and related types of topological groups such as locally
compact and compact groups.
- The
Electronic Journal of Linear Algebra (ELA)
- Articles are electronically submitted.
Refereeing of articles is conventional and of high-standards, and is
being carried out electronically. Posting of articles will be
immediate following acceptance and filling out copyright forms. There
is a US mirror which
is quicker to load.
- Mathematical
Physics Electronic Journal
- The intention of the journal is to
publish papers in Mathematical Physics and related areas that are of
the highest possible quality. Research papers and review articles are
selected through a normal refereeing process, overseen by an editorial
board.
- New
York Journal of Mathematics. Also available via gopher
and ftp
- The NYJ of Mathematics is a refereed
journal (the first electronic general mathematics journal) offerec by
SUNY, Albany. The journal is broadly based in subject matter, covering
algebra, modern analysis, and geometry/topology. The papers are
presented via TeX.
- Electronic
Transactions on Numerical Analysis. Also available via gopher
- An electronic journal for the
publication of significant new and important developments in numerical
analysis and scientific computing. Papers of the highest quality that
deal with the analysis of algorithms for the solution of continuous
models and numerical linear algebra are appropriate for ETNA.
- Southwest
Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics
- The
Data and Story Library
- Datasets, no DATASETS. The tools or
teaching statistics. DASL (pronounced "dazzle") is an online
library of datafiles and stories that illustrate the use of basic
statistics methods. We hope to provide data from a wide variety of
topics so that statistics teachers can find real-world examples that
will be interesting to their students. Use DASL's powerful search
engine to locate the story or datafile of interest.
