REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
An applicant seeking admission to the MSA program must submit to the Regional & Online Degree Programs department:
All materials must be submitted complete and intact
Minimum Requirements:
Admission to the M.S.A. program requires the following:
International students: In addition to meeting the requirements for admission given above, international students must take the TOEFL and have a score of 550 or higher (or 213 on the new conversation scale for the computer-based TOEFL exam).
Once an application file is complete, the Program Coordinator with the advice of the Program Committee will review the application and notify the applicant of his/her admission status.
Student Standings: The Program Committee takes a holistic approach to admission decisions. The decision is based on potential for academic success and potential to make significant professional contributions. Students are admitted to the program with conditionally classified standing and advance to classified standing and candidacy as various benchmarks are attained.
Classified Standing: Students are admitted to the M.S. in Administration program with Classified standing if they meet all the entrance requirements of the program. The entrance requirements are as follows:
Upon approval of the Academic Coordinator, in consultation with the Admissions Committee, students not meeting all the program entrance requirements may be admitted to the program with Conditionally Classified Standing. In these cases, the Academic Coordinator will develop criteria on a case-by-case basis that must be met for the student to advance to Classified Standing.

Culminating Experience: One Course
Electives (10 units) - Minimum of two courses.
A coherent program of study approved by the student’s assigned Advisor. Students may specialize in a specific area by completing coursework from CSUB or another accredited university or they may achieve breadth in general administration. In order to use senior-level courses (400 level) to meet the elective requirement, the courses must be related so as to create depth in an area approved by the advisor. Additionally, a portfolio entry demonstrating knowledge and skills gained in the senior-level courses must be submitted and approved for inclusion in the student’s portfolio. A maximum of 13 quarter units completed as a post-baccalaureate student may be transferred into the degree program from other accredited colleges or universities.
