ARTICLE I - ESTABLISHMENT
Section 1
The name of this organization shall be the Management Information System Club at California State University Bakersfield.Section 2
This organization is not organized for financial benefit and shall not make or declare dividends.ARTICLE II - ESTABLISHMENT
The purpose of this organization is:
- To develop a better understanding of the nature and functions of information technology
- To provide members with accurate information on the current employment environment
- To provide members access to industry representatives
- To facilitate networking of members and alumni
- To "further, and enhance, the information systems technical education of the members
- To represent information systems majors to the university administration in terms of:
- curricula
- course scheduling
- career matters
ARTICLE III - ESTABLISHMENT
Section 1
Membership is open to all students, graduate and undergraduate, with an interest in information systems or related fields.
Section 2
The organization shall not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, religion, creed, disability, gender, culture, age, nationality, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic.
ARTICLE VI - ESTABLISHMENT
Section 1
The organization will have an executive committee that consists of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations, and Web Administrator.
Section 2
The President's function is to: Oversee functioning of the organization, oversee continuity of the organization for the long term, obtain speakers, appoint persons to head committees (e.g., newsletter director, or project chairs) as necessary for various organization projects, and seek alliances with other organizations.
Section 3
The Vice-President's function is to: Function as the President when the President is unable to do so, maximize membership, and other duties as required by the president. In the event that the President is unable to fulfill the presidential duties, the Vice-President shall assume the President's function.
Section 4
The Secretary's function is to record club business.
Section 5
The Treasurer's function is to oversee all club finances.
Section 6
The Public Relations Officer's function is to act as liaison.
Section 7
The Web Administrator's function is to create and maintain an online presence for the club.
