About Media Services
Media Services is located on the lower level of the Stiern Library. The primary mission of
Media Services is to support faculty use and production of instructional support / presentation
materials. To carry out this mission the Media Center maintains the following
and support services.
Classroom Environment
Each classroom has, as a minimum configuration, a television connected to the campus distribution
system, an overhead projector, and a screen. Many classrooms are also equipped with VCR's and 11
classrooms have media boxes installed with 35mm slide projectors. 54 rooms have been updated to
,
each of these rooms are configured with a computer (PC or MAC) and a DVD/VCR unit
connected to a video projector. A room-by-room listing of Classroom Equipment Installations is
also available there. If you encounter problems using these facilities, or would like to make
suggestions for improvement, please contact the Director of Media Services at 661.654.2391.
Production Facilities
The is
equipped with a variety of equipment and software programs that can assist faculty and students
in preparing professional presentation material. This area has printers, scanners, a film recorder,
a CD-ROM recorder, laminators, a poster maker, binding machines, and an assortment of other devices
useful in preparing teaching and learning materials. This area is staffed by a media specialist
who will assist patrons in using these facilities.
Equipment Check-out
The includes a variety of
equipment that is freely accessible to faculty and students when used to support classroom
instruction or class-related projects.
IRTS
(IRTS) is the primary contact for reporting any problems you are encountering with your computer.
In addition, the group is responsible for applications services, software
installations, and training workshops (scheduled and by request). For information on these

Centralized Computer Labs
The
are functionally divided into two areas. Lab A (WSL Room 1) is an open-use lab for faculty, students,
and staff to use for curriculum-related activities. Labs B (WSL Room 3), C (WSL Room 5), D (WSL Room 14),
and E (WSL Room 16) are classrooms dedicated to computer and computer-aided instruction. This area
is staffed by Lab Consultants able to assist patrons in most aspects of software support and print services.
