Quick Computing Topics (QCT) is an electronic Newsletter published by Administrative Computing and Media Services/User Support for CSUB Faculty, Staff, and Students. Helpdesk personnel will be visiting each office over the next month to update the anti-virus software on most campus PC-based workstations. This update will include a new feature, which allows for the automatic installation of the latest software and updates for the campus anti-virus software as soon as they become available. This update will help identify and assist in the avoidance of future virus problems like the one we saw at the start of the fall quarter. This update will only apply to workstations using Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Workstations running Windows 98 will not be updated because that operating system will no longer be supported by either Microsoft or McAfee, the anti-virus program used by the campus.
