New Voice Mail:
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I find out the time and date message was sent?
Q: How do I know what extension the message
was sent from?
A: After
pressing 1, to listen to new messages, or 5, to listen to saved
messages, press the 0 (zero key) then 0 (zero) again.
This may be done anytime while listening
to a message or after listening to the complete message.
If you press 0, 0 before you have listened to the complete message
- just follow the prompts after hearing the date, etc.
Note: We
cannot program the Voice Mail Response system to provide this
message automatically. If the message is coming from off campus
or from a phone that doesn't have voice mail, you will not hear
an extension number.
Q: How
long are messages saved?
A: The
new voice mail system will automatically save messages for 15
days. Please call the Telecommunications Department (x3178, or
x2000) if you would like to change this parameter.
Q: How
can I access my voice mailbox from off campus?
A: Dial
664-3300
When you hear the chimes, press #
(pound key) immediately. System will prompt you to enter your
mail box number.
Enter your mailbox number
Enter your security code.
Q: How can I access my voice mailbox from
an extension on campus that has voice mail?
A: Dial
3300.
When the system asks for the security code,
press * (star key) then # (pound key).
System will prompt you to enter your mailbox
number.
Enter your mailbox number. System will then
ask for your security code.
Enter your security code.
Note:
You will preempt the "please enter
your mailbox number" message by pressing the # key immediately
after the * key. Pressing the * then # keys allows the system
to know that you are not at your normal phone extension.
If you have any questions or concerns about the new voice mail system, please call Carol Hohnstein at Telecommunications, x3178.
