Course Patterns

During the freshman year of the program, students will take one special honors seminar (plus two or three non-honors classes) each quarter.  The university is converting to semesters in fall 2016 and you will be informed of the new course patterns as soon as they are finalized.  The courses are intended to allow you to fulfill one of the university’s general education requirements.  In their last two years, students will take upper-division gen ed honors classes offered through the program (one per year).  In addition, they will complete an Independent Study Honors Seminar with a professor in their major discipline.  This Independent Study Seminar requirement may also be satisfied through international study or cooperative education classes.
