The school curriculum committee has approved three new history courses: 

• HIST 446 History of the American Empire
• HIST 454 Rebels and Rebellion in America 1945-1970 (previously HIST 477 Special Topics)
• HIST 556 Reading Seminar in the American West

Dr. Jim George, Jr. will teach HIST 446 in Spring 2009 (TTh 5:20-7:25pm). Dr. John Maynard will teach HIST 454 as an honors course in Winter 2009 (listed as HIST 477). HIST 556 will serve as a core course in a new primary field in the graduate program: California and the American West.
