Drs. Mark Baker and Douglas Dodd were awarded tenure and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor at CSU Bakersfield effective September 1, 2008.

Dr. Oliver Rink (American Colonial History) has formally retired after thirty-three years at CSU Bakersfield and entered the Faculty Early Retirement Program, whereby he will teach winter and spring quarters only--for up to five years.

Ms. Lia Schraeder (ABD, UC Davis) will begin at CSUB in the fall as a lecturer in Latin American history.
