Everyone feels stressed at times, your friends, your teachers and you! A little stress can be good but too much can ruin your mood, your day and even your performance in school.
- You Know You are Stressed if…
- You are not sleeping well.
- You forget important things.
- You feel nervous and out of control.
- You get sick a lot.
- You want to run away.
- If stress has taken over your life it’s time to take action!
Take a Time-Out when Stress Hits
- Breathe slowly in and out. Close your eyes and picture your favorite place. Taking time to regroup can help you get a handle on stress!
- Walk around the block. Clear your head.
- Take Time for You
- Eat Well. It will help you handle stress better.
- Exercise! It’s one of the best ways to cope.
- Don’t use drugs including alcohol. They are likely to cause more stress.
- Share your Problems with Friends and Family
- Talk things over with someone close. Ask for help.
- Find study mates and share dinner with someone.
- Try to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night. Without sleep you can’t make good decisions.
