State University Grant

The State University Grant (SUG) is specific to the California State University (CSU) system and is funded from a percentage of CSU system-wide student fee revenues. Limited allocations are provided to campuses based on their enrollment levels and other student data. This limited fund is intended for needy students who are legal residents of California . The California State University Chancellor defines eligibility criteria for award priorities, as well as the required student enrollment levels and maximum award amounts for the grant. Undergraduate, Teacher Credential, and Graduate students must be on-time applicants, who have exceptional financial need, and are enrolled in 12 units or more in order to qualify for a maximum SUG award (which, at CSUB, is equal to total fees for the academic year). Award amounts may vary by EFC and available funds. SUG funds are normally awarded for the fall, winter, and spring terms only.
