Proposal Submission Deadline EXTENDED: Friday, March 15, 2002


Proposal Guidelines and Selection Criteria:
  • Theme relevance “Closing the Educational Gap” and potential interest to EOP membership and student populations served, as well as other educational equity type programs such as TRIO, CAMP, etc.
  • Sample Topics: Enrollment Trends/Issues, Grant Writing, EOP Admission and Financial Aid Issues, CSU/EOP Programs in the Political Arena, Diversity, Student Retention, Counseling At-Risk Students, Leadership Development, Learning Technologies, Peer Counseling and Mentoring, Graduate School Preparation, Career Preparation, Student Success Courses, Program Management Techniques, Student Skills Development such as Public Speaking, Time Management, etc.
  •  Program proposals will be selected on appropriateness and consistency with conference theme, practical applicability, topic balance among educational equity programs, and regional distribution of presenters.

Please submit the following in addition to filling out the proposal form:
  • A one page abstract explaining the relevance, value and proposed objectives of the presentation/workshop to conference attendees.
  • Description or attachment of handouts to be given out at your proposed session (if available)
  • Contact information  - for scheduling workshop date/time if proposal is accepted. 

Since the conference program must be finalized and presenters notified in time to provide pre-conference coordination, you are strongly encouraged to submit proposals as soon as possible. Prompt submission will enable the committee to make early notification of acceptance, which should aid in travel and financial planning. Due to budgetary considerations, it is not possible to offer an honorarium or to waive registration fees for program presenters.
