Program Requirements

If you wish to receive a certificate of completion you will need to complete all five courses with a grade of "credit" in each course.  All courses are graded on a credit/no credit basis and carry professional development units (PDU) and no academic units and therefore can not be applied towards a degree unless permitted by a university.  To receive a grade of "credit" you must receive a 70% or higher.

CSUB Extended University is an approved by the Project Management Institute (PMI®) Global Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.) and course hours can be applied towards the requirements for Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI®).


Introduction to Project Management
MGMT 801 - 1.0 PDU - 10 hours - $300

This course introduces the concepts, processes, and knowledge areas of projects.

Project Planning and Scheduling using Microsoft Office Project
MGMT 802 - 1.0 PDU - 10 hours - $400*

In this course, you will learn how to plan and schedule your projects using Microsoft Office Project.

Managing the Project Team
MGMT 803 - 1.0 PDU - 10 hours - $300*

Management of project teams is difficult because of the unique dynamics of a project team. This course emphasizes how improved communication in project teams can help achieve project success.

Project Procurement and Quality Management
MGMT 804 - 1.0 PDU - 10 hours - $300*

This course addresses how to procure quality goods and services for your projects. You will also learn how to implement quality management principles in your projects to help improve the quality of your products and services.

Project Ethics and Risk Management
MGMT 805 - 1.0 PDU - 10 hours - $300*

This course addresses the ethics involved in projects from the perspective of the PMI® Code of Ethics. You will also learn how to determine what risks may affect your project, how to assess the potential impact of these risks on your project, and how you can protect your project from these risks.
