BS in Biology - Sample Programs

180 units

These are sample schedules for the Biology major. They are intended to assist in planning the sequence of coursework for the major. Individual students may complete these requirements with modifications to major courses, general education, and other degree requirements. It is not intended to reflect the availability of courses, but instead, to demonstrate the feasibility of completing the B.S. in Biology by a full-time student in a standard four-year schedule or part-time in five or six-year schedules. Some courses have pre-requisites. All of the required 200 and 300 and 400 level core courses are offered at least twice/year. There is at least one of the 400 level required lab courses offered every quarter. Some elective courses are offered alternate years. Each student should consult the class schedule for an accurate listing of course offerings and the university catalog for course descriptions. Links to these documents and a tentative schedule of course offerings for the current year can be found on the Biology Department Home Page. All students should plan their schedule around the major required courses, and begin their Chemistry and Biology coursework as early as possible in their program of study.
