Subject:   MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE FOR STUDENTS

Attention Department Heads and Student Payroll Timekeepers: Effective January 1, 2007, the California minimum wage will increase to $7.50 per hour, and will increase to $8.00 per hour effective January 1, 2008. Consistent with these changes, the CSU will be increasing the minimum salary rates for student classifications from $6.75 to $7.50.

Payroll will update your January CD048's for you, changing any student rate that falls below $7.50 up to the new rate. We will not be adjusting rates for maximums in each class at this time. A notice of the increase has been posted to the student pay scale link on the Payroll Services web page and will be fully updated at a later date.
