Good morning all! This is a note to inform you of a change in reporting of non-resident alien (NRA) student time and to ask for assistance in identifying student employees moving to Peoplesoft this summer.

NRA (non-resident alien) Processing change:
Effective with the April 2004 pay period all non-resident alien (NRA) student assistants will be moved to a new student class code1868. This move was made by the Chancellor's Office to conform with IRS tax reporting requirements for NRA students. Each pay period you will receive a separate CD048 timesheet for your NRA students. NRA students have been crossed off the pre-printed CD048 for April and a new CD048 created for them.

Summer/Fall information on Student Assistants:
We are requesting that before you submit your student time on May 3rd that you provide us with some information on the CD048 that will help Payroll/HR go forward with putting student employees into Peoplesoft. What we would like is for you to place a "C" to the left of the student's social security number on the CD048 if you think you will be having them continue working for the Summer or Fall quarters. We are trying to put as many students into Peoplesoft as soon as possible so that when conversion hits on July 1st for faculty and staff, we will already have the student employee transfer well under way.
