From: One-Time
Dollar Team
Date: May 10, 2004
Subject: Successful funding secured
The One-Time Dollar Team for FY 03/04 has concluded their process and has successfully secured funding for the following items:
- AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATE (Public Safety)
These
will be machines placed in the patrol vehicles which will enable the
officers to respond to all types of emergencies, including heart attack
victims.
- HP 4200 LASERJET PRINTER (Payroll)
This will enable the payroll office to maintain their high level of confidentiality
by being able to print all correspondence in their office location
instead of being directed to other offices which may have more foot
traffic.
- PALLADIUM SECURITY KEY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (Facilities, Planning, Design & Operations)
This provides a computer controlled lock box in Facilities Management which will
house up to 97 sets of keys. This will allow a greater number of area keys
to be available to key individuals during the work day while at the same
time minimize the negative impact that could result from the loss of a set
of master keys.
The BAS Division would like to thank the members of
the One-Time Dollar Team for their outstanding effort this last year.
They worked independently and efficiently to gather proposals, analyze
the requests and move forward with their recommendations to the Leadership
Committee. The team work has resulted in key projects for the division
receiving recognition and funding with an end result of increase efficiency
to the division. The Team members that deserve our thanks for a job well
done are Walt Davis (chair), Shawn Andrews, Jeanne Henry, Jim Duncan
and Diana Trevino.
Based on the FY04/05 budget scenario, the BAS Division
was unable to fund all the recommended projects at this time. The Team
has recommended
three additional projects that will continue to receive consideration
by the Leadership Committee pending the outcome of the final budget
for FY 04/05 and the yearend analysis of FY 03/04. These products are:
- "SMART TRACK"
This is a scanning tracking system used by Support Services (mailing/shipping
and receiving) to read existing barcodes or apply new barcodes so packages
can be tracked for signature and/or delivery status.
- COLLATOR TOWER AIR FEED
This is a collator for the Print Shop which would allow the machines
to automate the process of putting together programs larger than 20
pages.
- STREET SWEEPER
This is a truck with a curb broom and water system & would allow
the campus to do their own cleaning and maintenance of streets & parking
lots.
