Repl acement parking for Lot E
The site for the new Science III building was parking lot E. The lot contained approximately 400 parking spaces.
The new parking lot, south of the Health Center, replaces the lost 400 spaces and provides an additional 200 parking spaces. |
Parking Lot L Drainage Basin/Landscape Improvement |
IMPROVED DRAINAGE & LANDSCAPING
Located near Parking Lot L a new drainage system was installed
to help mitigate excess water.
Drainage pipe was buried, covered with rock and then back
filled.

HOME FOR ADMINISTRATIVE COMPUTING SERVICES
The ACS department has been relocated to a new location adjacent
to the Library just east of it.
This new location houses offices for the computing staff.
The
newly installed computer room is state-of-the-art.

TO
BETTER SERVE YOU
The Office of Human Resources are now located in the Administration
building. They are next door to Mike Neal's office, Vice President
of Business & Administrative Services.

ACCOUNTING
MOVES
Fiscal Services' General Accounting department finds an open
office more inviting and easier to work in.
Within a few feet of Foundation and across the hall from Procurement,
Accounting has found a place to call home.

 PROCUREMENT
LEAVES PREVIOUS OFFICE
Students, faculty and staff will find the Procurement department
is situated near other services. More centrally located to
the BAS division, they are across the hall from General Accounting,
next to Foundation.

FPDO finished resurfacing the tennis courts.

 CEILING
IN DOROTHY DOHAHUE HALL GETS FACELIFT
FPDO (Facilities Planning Development & Operations) replaced
all acoustic tiles, the frame and secured the ceiling making
it earthquake resistant.

PARKING
LOT E RESURFACING
The parking lot E is undergoing a renovation in a scheduled
maintenance to be completed Aug. 22 before start of classes.

JAZZMAN'S CAFE BUILT BY CAL STATE BAKERSFIELD

The construction project was supervised and carried out by
the FPDO department.
Next

Previous Projects
Remodel Physics Labs for Engineering

We recently renovated two existing Physics laboratories consisting
of converting the second floor of Science II into two Engineering
classrooms. The labs are completed and available for the new
Engineering program this 2001 Fall term.
Loader Memorial Fountain

This memorial fountain is dedicated to a founding member of
the Cal State Bakersfield Foundation, Mr. Clifford Loader, and
was Foundation funded. The fountain features a waterfall which
reflects CSUB's colors of blue and gold. |
New Business Development Center

Construction of the "Classroom/Office Building III" located
east of the tennis courts has been completed. This four-building
complex
consists of faculty offices, workrooms, conference rooms, administrative
offices, lecture and seminar rooms. This
50,000 square foot complex was occupied beginning the Winter 2002 quarter and the last phase was occupied
during the Summer 2002 quarter.
Antelope Valley Campus Expansion

Construction has been completed to add 8000 square
feet of space at the Antelope Valley College campus. The Antelope
Valley
Expansion
includes Health Service, Disabled Student Services, Admissions,
faculty offices and classroom spaces. Construction finished
on the first two buildings in the first of October of 2001.
Computing and Telecommunications Center Relocation
This project (6,000 square feet) consolidates the office of
Computer Services in a new location connected to the Stiern
Library. The old facilities were no longer adequate
and not able to keep up with existing technology and personnel
requirements.
Additionally, this project provides space to accommodate
the system-wide telecommunications infrastructure upgrade.
The
construction reconfigures interior space for the computer
room and offices and upgrades the Heating Ventilating
Air Conditioning for the increased use of computers and upgrades
the electrical power distribution system. |

Kroll Way Project
The campus has designed a new campus
entrance that connects with the planned bridge that the
City of
Bakersfield
constructed at Kroll Way. There is a campus roadway
to carry that traffic from the Kroll Way Bridge to Don Hart
East. The project includes a parking lot adjacent
to the roadway on the north side. Construction
was completed
in the second quarter of 2002. |
