Volunteer Opportunities

The CSUB Alumni Association is actively building our relationship with the community, and as a result, we need more volunteers than ever. We are involved in a number of great events where your assistance could make a real difference. There are also a number of standing committees in which you could participate. You will be working with fellow CSUB graduates in each of these activities and you will have the opportunity to make new friends and contacts while you assist the University.  Email us at alumni@csub.edu if you are interested in volunteering.

One-Time Volunteer Opportunities

Science Bowl - Local high school students tackle questions in all areas of science, including math, chemistry, astronomy, earth science, computer science, physics, and general science. Alumni volunteers will work as scorekeepers, timekeepers and rules judges. You don't need to know the answers to the questions to participate! (February)

Celebrate CSUB! and Freshman Orientation - This is an opportunity for the entire community to visit the campus via our annual open house. The university will be on display and welcoming families and friends to the campus. And incoming students and their families will be here for orientation, to visit the campus and take tours. Alumni volunteers are needed to help with booths, tours and sharing their experiences. (April)

Party in the Park - This is one event you won't want to miss! Party in the Park is a fun-filled wine and beer tasting event with a silent auction and great food.  Help is needed in setting up, check-in, pouring wine, and clean up. Date is yet to be determined for 2014.

Athletic BBQ's - These events offer great food and fun with proceeds benefiting the CSUB Athletic Department. Alumni are needed to help serve food, staff the Alumni table, and whatever is needed to help ensure the event is a success! (May)

Commencement - The Alumni Association has volunteers interacting with the graduate students both before and after the ceremony.  This is the most exciting time to return to campus! (June)
