Measles/Rubella Requirement

To protect the health of all members of the campus community, the California State University requires all students born after January 1, 1957, to either be immunized against measles and rubella or present proof of measles and rubella immunity. Thus, before you can register for your second quarter at CSUB, you must meet this requirement by doing one of the following: 1. Provide verification of measles and rubella immunization given after 15 months of age. Immunizations must have been given after January 1, 1968, to be valid since prior to that time the vaccine did not provide long lasting immunity, or 2. Receive a measles and rubella immunization at the student health center for $60.00, or 3. Request and receive an exemption (permanent or temporary) from the requirement either for medical reasons (including current pregnancy), laboratory verification of immunity to measles and rubella, or religious or personal beliefs. 4. Request and receive an exemption if you are a California High School graduate. To make an appointment with the CSUB AV Health Center to receive your immunization, please call 661-952-5064, Monday - Thursday 9:00am - 6:00 pm and Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Please note the office is closed for lunch 11:00am to 12:00pm everyday.
