CSUB-AV Academic Advising

The Academic Advising department in the Antelope Valley helps students get ready for transfer, stay on track towards graduation, and provides answers to questions about degree requirements.

Current Students:

Current Students are required to meet with an advisor at least once in an academic year. To make an appointment please call the AV advising office at (661) 952-5010. We do our best to respond to all calls within 48 hours but sometimes during busy registration periods this is not always possible. If you do not receive a response within 48 hours please contact the AV front desk at (661) 952-5000 for assistance.

First time college students:

We congratulate you on your decision to seek out higher education! Unfortunately, the AV campus of CSUB only accepts transfer students who have completed all of their lower division general education courses. We encourage you to consider starting at main campus in Bakersfield and then transferring back to us once your GE is complete. Another option is to complete your GE at a local community college. We have articulation agreements with all community colleges in California so transferring from these schools is as streamlined as possible. We look forward to welcoming you as a CSUB Roadrunner in the future!

The University Catalog and Course Schedules

CSUB offers the University Catalog online for FREE here. If you would prefer a hard copy, they are available for purchase at the front desk for $10.00 (cash or check only). The schedule of classes is typically available two weeks preceding registration and can be found online by going to and clicking on the “current students” tab and then “class search”. For general information regarding advising, forms, dates and deadlines, and all other advising inquiries please visit the Academic Advising and Resource Center home page here
