Earned PhD in Education at UCLA (1997) and was project director in program evaluation for WestEd until retirement in 2006. Joined 60+ in 2008,was interest group coordinator and now in my second year as president. I most enjoy General Meetings and Coffee with the Professor

Ted Murphy Ted Murphy, Vice-President, Programs

I grew up in North Carolina, earned BA, MA, and Ph.D. degrees at Duke University, taught biology in upstate New York from '63 to '72. Joined CSB faculty in '72, taught many courses, especially Animal Biology/Ecology; founded Facility for Animal Care and Treatment (FACT) in '75; retired in '99, awarded Emeritus in 2001. Chaired Coffee with the Professor 2002 to 2006. Elected VP in 2006 - I arrange monthly programs and maintain the 60+ web pages.

Gladys Stilwill Gladys Stilwill, Vice-President, Membership
Kathy Wagner Kathy Wagner, Secretary

Born in Inglewood, California; moved to Bakersfield from Lawndale in 1975.  I worked as a Medical Technologist at Mercy Hospital from 1976 to 2007.  I joined 60+ in 2000.  I most enjoy General Meetings and the Reading Group II.  I also am a member of Bakersfield Woman's Club and a member of Masterworks Chorale.  I also enjoy knitting, cross-stitch, and puzzles of all kinds.  My husband John works for the Boy Scouts of America.

Beth Curtis Beth Curtis, Treasurer

I was born on a farm near Dayton, Ohio. Graduated Wheaton College (IL), got an MA from CSUB. Taught elementary and special education for over 30 years. Have two daughters and four (wonderful, of course) grandchildren. I joined 60+ after retiring in 1990 and am currently ch-chairman of the lunch group, volunteer, and crush numbers as treasurer.

Camille Gavin Camille Gavin, Past President, Parliamentarian
Eloise Higgins Eloise Higgins, Director at Large 2010-2112

My husband's job in oil brought us from Orange County to Bakersfield in 1966. A California native, I was an occupational therapist and preschool teacher, then retired early (1986) from Bakersfield College where I was a professor in the F.A.C.E. Department for 20 years. After retiring, I was a wine buyer for Fike's Finer Foods and a wine distributor. Finding 60+ was a thrill. I have served on the board and been active with ElderCollege. Coffee with the Professor is my favorite interest group.

Enid Hull Enid Hull, Director at Large 2010-2112

Born in Florida and lived several places between Florida and California 'til I arrived here from Indiana to attend school in 1960. Retired three time - last in 2007 - this one will stick. 60+ plays a big part in my retirement and keeps me busy with things I love to do and be involved in. I'm the volunteer coordinator for Cal State sporting events and enjoy every minute of it. Most of all, I enjoy the people I work with. My husband Ernie and I both enjoy our activities in 60+.

Phyllis Algra Phyllis Algra, Director at Large 2011-2113
Carol Black Carol Black, Director at Large 2011-2113

A transplant from the bay area, I moved here in 2001 after retiring as an Elementary School Principal. Besides Director for 60+, I enjoy Reading Group II and Coffee with the Professor.
