The 60+ Club Action Network teams assist CSUB programs and departments either on a regularly scheduled basis or for specific events. New action teams may be added by invitation or interest. The following teams are coordinated by Susan Wallace:
Athletics - timing swimmers, handing out programs, and ticket-taking at a variety of CSUB athletic events, including basketball and baseball.
FACT - Facility for Animal Care and Treatment - assisting FACT students and volunteers at Open Houses and an annual Barbecue for the Birds, welcoming guests and selling t-shirts and educational materials. Open Houses are held the first Saturday of month in February, March, April, May, October, November and December.
Fine Arts: Theater - welcoming guests to theatrical performances, ticket-taking, and monitoring during intermissions.
Fine Arts: Music - extending a welcome to guests at CSUB concerts, student and faculty recitals, collecting tickets at the door, and assisting during intermissions - serving refreshments, selling CDs.
Jazz Events - welcoming, distributing programs, collecting tickets, and assisting at a variety of jazz events, including the spring Jazz Festival.
Rose Garden - pruning, trimming, and performing general maintenance duties at the Walter Stiern Memorial Rose Garden
Short Term Projects - assisting CSUB departments with major campus events like the Athletic Department BBQs, commencement ceremonies, and many other special events throughout the year.
Walter Stiern Library - assisting with special events, helping organize archival materials, and recording oral histories for the Archives.
California Well Sample Core Repository - recording, cataloging, and maintaining over 5,000 core samples from California oil wells. This unique facility is used by visitors from all over the world.
